Look! It's Alleliua!

I'm not using the internet at home at the moment in an attempt for my grandparents to have internet of a decent speed 'til the end of the month. And can I remember to blog at uni? Well, how many posts have I posted this week? That'd be no, I can't remember.

I won a sims2 competition! Go me! I had completely convinced myself I was going to place last.
(That's my avi as proof.) This is my fave pic from the entry, except the one in the top right of this page. And let me tell you, I'm proud. It took some photoshoppin', especially her waist and feet. (Hopefully you can't see it, though.)So. This week I went and ate Dad's Famous Lentil Patties at the cousins', and hid out in Stu's room while he and Trent played... umm... forgot name of 'puter game, and I started reading Lian Hearn's The Harsh Cry of the Heron, but I left it there on purpose because I've got maths games to be a-making.
Also
I desperately want to see Once which is out in cinemas today - I've had some music from it on my MP3 player for months which I really like - but I'm too poor. So I'll have to wait a whole week and pray it doesn't disappear.

not christmas

um. so. two Good Days in a row. Am terrified, and will now run away and hide under the bed, or at least I would if it wasn't quite so crowded with boxes and suitcases and shoes and dust bunnies and such. Teacher said this was the best day I've ever had. Have got a terrible sensation of impending doom re: tomorrow, although I don't know how bad it could really be - we're making gingerbread men. Yumm. Speaking of, here are some donuts I didn't eat this afternoon except for one.

And here is a tower made of blocks.

And also I got an assignment back with an A+ grade. So, in all, good days. (That's plural because I got the assignment back yesterday.)

Must ask my mum very sweetly to book some driving lessons for me now that I know when I'm going home.

La la la.

Gold Star

This post is my reward for finishing the first fifth of my assignment. You may think, huh, one fifth, that's not much, she needs someone to stand over the computer and lash her with a cat-o-nine-tails, but the thing is, the first fifth is the hardest, because to start, I need to figure out where the heck I'm going. So as a friend said yesterday when I took notes in the tute instead of doodles, Gold Star for me. I know where I'm headed, and I'm going there, I promise, I just needed a little teeny eeny break, etc, etc, whine whine...
Must ring home and find out what I should buy for mother's day and my brothers' birthday, both of which are happening soonish.

I found both these new obsessions a few weeks ago, but didn't think they were worth blogging. The fact that I'm still obsessed with them is reason enough to blog them.

Firstly, a Regina Spektor video that was on the Fabulist. I'm obsessed with it because I can't sing it. And that, for me, is really frustrating. The chorus is stuck in my head with no way of getting out.

And the other obsession is a website, Linda Bergkvist's website to be exact. Who is she? I hear you ask. She is a digital artist, and her stuff is well pretty. Check it out at Furiae.
Now, back to assignment. After I finish the next fifth, I've promised myself lemon-lime sorbet. Which is not my favourite as much as rose petal gelato, but is still pretty good.

Huzzah!!!

Alleliua's Current Obsession is two whole weeks old. Let us celebrate with interpretive dance.

(Pause for interpretive dance.)

It's been a reasonable two weeks, on the whole. I knocked over an assignment, got a cool new book and sunnies, saw some family, did some sleeping (but not enough), and I made curry. I'm sure more happened than that. And it has been good, even if I've been eating out of vending machines too much (just because it's a time-honoured uni tradition doesn't mean it's good; actually, how many time-honoured uni traditions are good? Whining, complaining, getting drunk and leaving everything to the last minute are the uni traditions that spring to mind, and they are even worse than excessive ex-vending machine eats.) Hmm. And I really don't have a life, but I knew that already.

Plus, I read a bunch of Psalms, which is also good.

Cookingness

Today I made hommus, and also curry. Both were very good. The hommus recipe comes, as far as I know, from my Dad (he forgot where it came from.) The curry is Nigella Lawson's sweet potato and chickpea curry, which came from The Age newspaper a few months ago. I found the recipe on the web, here: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/03/recipe_of_the_w_9.php

Mmm. Curry.

'WAR'

I swear, this is the most bizarre sweet I have ever eaten. Speaks for itself, though, really.
I love singing The Church's One Foundation. I would like to think that it's because it has a great meaning, but it's more likely to be that it's in my vocal range and provides the opportunity to sing the word 'schisms.'

Ahgr. So Sleepy.

This is what my room looks like at the moment. I need to clean it up -- we're having family to lunch tomorrow and the kiddies will want to rabbit around in here -- but I also have to make a large green poster for Tuesday, that I said I would have finished for Monday morning, and because of the aforesaid lunch I won't get it done tomorrow. Plus I haven't done my Sunday School prep yet. So I probably shouldn't be wasting my time blogging, but oh well.
Also, am very sleepy.
I'm obsessed with conversation lollies. The heart-shaped hard candy ones, that should say things like 'BE MINE' and tend to actually say things like 'DORE OU' or the amusingly antiquated 'FAX ME', often off-kilter and invariably upside down. If you can work out what they say at all; according to conversation lollies, the most romantic phrase in the English language is something along the lines of 'MMF SMURBLE'.
But this only adds to their charms. Every time I walk past the lolly shop I have to pick some up. I definitely mmf smurble them.
